Greetings All again;
I have solved some/most of my problem opening handbook in Windows XP. I had remembered that I had made changes in the; administration tools/ services. There are not many folks that know that one can very safely change some services to either [ disable,manual, or auto] in properties of unneeded services from starting up and be constantly running in the background. My changing one back to default allowed me to open CHM file.
It isn't opening perfectly such as the screen shot until I actually click items and not section headers...those under the + sign. I thought it wise to repost before any of you had given me suggestions of help for something I had caused.
Time for me to go back to reading and learning before asking necessary questions that someone has already answered.

May everyones day be better than their yesterday;
Craig/heywelder

To GohCH :
Thanks for the tools. And thanks to Mr Song for the tutorial; however, I too cannot seem to get anything more from opening the file other than "This program cannot display the web page." I tried re- associating with the help system "hh.exe" but to no avail. What am I missing? Is there a new version I have missed?

Thanks a lot
